Payroll Assistant (Part-time 20 hours) - Bristol - Central

£25,000 FTE (20 hours) - 1 or 2 days a month in office - Accountancy / Finance

Element Recruitment are pleased to be working leading firm in Central Bristol who are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join their growing team! They are looking for a part-time, experienced payroll assistant for 20 hours per week. You will only be required to go into the office once or twice a month! Salary on offer is a full time equivalent of £25,000. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing all aspects of weekly / monthly payrolls from start to finish
  • Collating and checking weekly timesheets
  • Processing any changes to payroll that may arise out of queries, e.g overpayments, underpayments and backdated pay changes
  • Good knowledge and understanding of payroll processes and legislation
  • Processing new starters and leavers and maintaining employees' payroll records
  • Calculating and entering variable overtime, travel allowances and expense payments. 
  • Processing statutory payments - SSP, SMP, SPP etc
  • Sending full payment submission to HMRC
  • Other general ad hoc duties as required by the payroll team from time to time. 

You will need:

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel
  • Minimum 3 years experience in payroll roll
  • AAT qualification or equivalent (desirable)
