Senior Credit Controller - Bristol

£32,000 - £35,000 + study - Accountancy / Finance

Element Recruitment is pleased to be working in an exclusive partnership with a growing tech company that is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Credit Control Lead to manage the Credit Control function. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient collection of outstanding debts, reducing debtor days, and maintaining high-quality standards within the team. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, improving processes, and ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals.

Based in Bristol, free parking on-site

Hybrid working - 3 days a week in the office after training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the Credit Control team, ensuring high-quality performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Approve the application of late payment fees to overdue accounts and ensure timely debt collection in line with established payment terms.
  • Oversee the efficient resolution of customer queries, working closely with other departments as needed to address and resolve disputes.
  • Lead the preparation of weekly credit control and KPI reports, ensuring clear visibility of team performance and outstanding debts.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve finance processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Credit Control function.
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships across the Group to support smooth operations and issue resolution.
  • Support the team in meeting and exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs), while also actively participating in cross-training initiatives across the Finance department.
  • Contribute to Finance-related projects, offering insight and support as needed to drive improvements in the wider Finance function.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing a Credit Control team.
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills.
  • Accounting related qualification is desirable (CICM, AAT) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to resolve customer and internal queries effectively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement and efficiency.
