We’re proud to announce Tora Atkinson’s recent promotion to Regional Director (Gloucestershire, Swindon & Wiltshire) based on her hard work, dedication and contribution to building Element’s business over the last 12 months. Tora joined Element Recruitment in September 2016 having previously worked with Steve Colegate within the south west Executive Finance & Accounting market.

Born and raised in Cheltenham, Tora was keen to be part of her local business community by building a network of finance & accounting professionals to partner with. She has certainly achieved this, having built strong relationships with clients and candidates in the Swindon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire region over the last 12 months.

I was curious to find out why Tora chose to join Element Recruitment:

“I knew from the beginning that I wanted to focus on my local area (Gloucestershire, Swindon & Wiltshire) and build relationships through recruitment within finance and accounting. I really wanted something of my own and I’ve been able to do this at Element.

Element has given me autonomy and opportunity to develop new skills. I started my career in permanent recruitment but over the last 12 months expanded this to include temp and interim, which I’ve really enjoyed. It’s also been great to be able to offer the clients I work with a full spectrum of services.

Steve always taught me to be honest and frank with the people I work with. These values hold true at Element and it’s enabled me to build good relationships and support my clients as a long-term business partner.”

I asked Tora what she has enjoyed most since joining Element last year:

“The laughing fits!

Seeing the team working together and collaborating. Watching my colleagues who are newer to recruitment grow and develop.

Being runner-up for the Business Leaders Awards in September was a real high.”

Tora’s strengths are her loyal, dependable and honest attitude to building relationships. She’s takes this approach with the professionals she partners with and her internal colleagues, exuding a positive, can-do attitude. Something Tora’s learnt is the importance to manage expectations and apply her good listening skills to give a tailored approach to each search. When entrusted with an individuals career or a client’s next hire, Tora will ensure that she’ll do her best to deliver.

Tora has been promoted this month due to her contribution to the business, mentoring skills and as recognition of the hard-work she has put in since joining Element. As part of her promotion, Tora will be looking to hire a new colleague to work alongside her and the team in the Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire region. Ideally based in Cheltenham, she’ll be looking for someone with sales experience, interested to find out more about a career in recruitment and hungry to learn.
